Just when it seemed that we were back in the CWS tournament, up 5-0 in the top of the 7th with our ace closer on the mound, it all came crashing down. 1 run in the bottom of the 7th, another in the 8th, and then four in the 9th to lose to LSU. Oh well, as the old saying goes, "I may not have been at the College World Series this year . . . but neither was the University of Texas!"
Now it's time to look ahead to better times--and Rice football begins in just over two months!

Rice was ahead when I had to leave for what turned into quite the zany conversation with my roommate, and I left the house and told several people over the phone that "at least Rice won..." Unbelievable that they lost. Simply unbelievable. The tragic fall of the Owls and 'Canes is offset only by the utter destruction of University of Texas and Florida State University, who, as I predicted, the 'Canes sent home to momma. Good stuff! Even better is my friend who lives in Tallahassee and (at my suggestion) went to the baseball team's homecoming parade with a poster that said: "WELCOME HOME, SEMINOLES BASEBALL!" and at the bottom it read: "(Courtesy of the Miami Hurricanes!)"
I will make an early prediction for an Owls vs. Canes championship game in 2009!

Cox jinxed it... he sent Romero an email rubbing in the Rice win over his beloved Tigers. (-: You know Daniel couldn't wait to send him a text about that!! Missed you this past weekend. We had a pool party at the new casa and some pool volleyball was on! It was awesome!
